Production Blog: The Park Was Being Used...

I tried to get the group together to film again, this time at a park near the school we attend. Two people were away, so it was just me and Kayla. We decided to film what we could. I could just deal with the rest of the shots later. Driving to the park was a little confusing at first, since it's a bit hidden from the road, but I eventually found it. Once Kayla arrived we first had to set up the GoPro we wanted to film some shots with. I saw lots of people around playing sports, but I didn't worry. Since we were filming on the grassy areas, none of them would be on camera. We sat down at a table to set up and GoPro and talk about what we needed to film. I noticed some granola bars and drinks on the table, but figured that as long as we didn't touch them we would be fine. Apparently, I was wrong. A woman came over and asked if we could move because they were hosting a tennis tournament. I'd never even heard of tennis tournaments being hosted in that area, but I am in school, so I guess I wouldn't know. We had no choice but to move, but it would be over soon. Again, I figured it wouldn't impact our filming. Again, I was apparently wrong. As we tried to discuss filming, my partner became a little anxious about getting in trouble. While I just wanted to get filming done, I could see where the anxiety was coming from. There was a slight chance that we could catch someone in the background and I didn't want to deal with the trouble that could bring. The park's occupation also made it an odd place to try and film, at least for that day. In hindsight, I doubt anyone could get us in trouble for filming in a public park. Private property is understandable, but public parks are for anyone's use. At the end of it, it seemed that it would be better to leave this for another day. I'm getting sick of not filming.
