Our Pitches

Image
The First Pitch : Tiny person lost in the backyard.    This whole film would be shot as close to the ground and zoomed in as possible with the main character the size of an ant.   The Second Pitch : Women learns to love programming despite misogyny.   The Third Pitch : Ballsy kids get lost in the woods and slowly get scared by creepy happenings.     Out of the three of these we chose the third pitc h.   It would be the cheapest, the easiest, and has plenty of room in case there is the off-chance we can’t meet up as often as we wish. All woods can look the same, so we can create the appearance that we are in the same place, even if we aren’t. One of us is still a little upset about the fact that the second pitch is too difficult, but the third pitch is a good mix of simple and creative, which is exactly what we need for this class .

An Introduction: A New Year, A New Group

Image
This year my group is very different. See, last year I worked with Kayla and Hervis, but they decided to not take A-Level Media, which is okay. I've decided to work with Naliah (last initial) this year. I met her last year while tutoring for Algebra 2 and Pre-Calculus and she was in the library needing help for Calculus. I think the fact that she was even in the library requesting help is a testament to her dedication to school. She seemed really sweet and had a lot of cool interests. Math clearly wasn't her favorite subject, but she loved anime and is now a promoter of the school's diversity club. I'm really glad I got to know her, and I hope we work well together this year. She was also in my AS-Level class, but we never really got to know each other until later into last year and this year. She appears to be a hard-worker and very excited for this class, so I'm happy to be working with her.  Last year, I believe she worked on her project alone, as I often saw her

An Introduction: New Year, New Me

Hello, I am Ariel, it's a new year, so it's time to introduce the new me. I am now an 11th grader(junior) and my ultimate goal is to receive my Cambridge diploma for the chance of earning a scholarship.I've completed six AICE courses, so only one to go! I took AICE Media Studies because I needed a Cambridge credit and Media Studies intrigued me. Film is not something I would have considered in the past, but now my eyes have been opened. I was aware that there were many aspects to making films, but learning all of the details is so fascinating. Even just learning the basic film terms has caught my attention and I'm very excited for this upcoming project.  According to my knowledge, it is a five minute short film. I feel as though I've watched too many short films throughout my life and now have too many ideas to dig through. I do have a history with Cambridge courses and I've taken very difficult Cambridge courses in the past. However, I have applied myself accor
