An Introduction: A New Year, A New Group

This year my group is very different. See, last year I worked with Kayla and Hervis, but they decided to not take A-Level Media, which is okay. I've decided to work with Naliah (last initial) this year. I met her last year while tutoring for Algebra 2 and Pre-Calculus and she was in the library needing help for Calculus. I think the fact that she was even in the library requesting help is a testament to her dedication to school. She seemed really sweet and had a lot of cool interests. Math clearly wasn't her favorite subject, but she loved anime and is now a promoter of the school's diversity club. I'm really glad I got to know her, and I hope we work well together this year. She was also in my AS-Level class, but we never really got to know each other until later into last year and this year. She appears to be a hard-worker and very excited for this class, so I'm happy to be working with her.

Last year, I believe she worked on her project alone, as I often saw her sitting by herself. I'm unsure of how her projects turned out, so I plan on asking her. I just need to know what ideas she had and how they were executed. My ideas last year were very simple and mostly based on everyday things, with a possible exception being our final task, but certain elements of the final task were certainly things that occur frequently. To recount the films from last year, my commercial was about a pen, the music video was about two friends and their lives afterschool, and the final task was about a girl who witnessed her friend being murdered and goes off on a journey for justice. I really enjoyed creating the films from last year, and I hope to have as much fun with Naliah.

Returning back to how Naliah and I started becoming friends, we started speaking frequently to each other in our A-Level Media Studies class. She then decided to get my number, mostly for math help, but then she asked if I would be okay working with her for our short film. After some thinking, I decided that working with Naliah would be the best option. I know her the best out of everyone in my A-Level and it would be fun to work with someone new. I think we've both learned a lot of new skills from last year and are willing to put those skills to good use.
