An Introduction: Groupmates

For my final task, I am happy to be working with Kayla, Hervis, and Zahra. We have not had the opportunity to discuss the specifics of our projects, but I know that we will soon. Kayla is intelligent and Hervis is responsible. I do not know Zahra, but Kayla does and I trust her judgement. It is for these reasons that I am excited to be working with them. Hervis, Kayla and I have worked together on a project before. It was the music video, which ended up as a success. During that project, they showed themselves to be hard-working and honest with their work. They were efficient with the way they fulfilled each of the requirements and with their speed of getting the recordings in. It was a pleasant experience to work with them and I am expecting the same in this project. I am also excited to meet someone new and hope she has the same work ethic as the other two members. 

In regards to how we will work together, I know that will be discussed. However, I am prepared to take up whatever task needs to be done. I know that one of my biggest pet peeves is people who don't lift their weight in group projects and I refuse to become one of them. Brainstorming has been difficult, but I have some ideas. They, of course, will require fleshing out. I know that depending on what we do, we'll need specific sound effects and we really need to plan out how long each shot will be. That was an issue on the music video and I don't want it happening again. I am also thinking of what non-diegetic sound will be used, specifically soundtracks. We need to get the rights to use whatever song, so it would be best to work quickly. 

Going back to my partners, Kayla and Hervis, we have worked together in the past and became acquainted through working with each other. Kayla has a very outgoing personality and Hervis is very smart. They have proven themselves to be great workers. Regarding Zahra, I do not know much about her, but I believe we will get to know each other throughout the time period of us working. While working on this, we can communicate in and outside of class and I know they will answer to the best of their abilities. Overall, I am excited to be working with them on our final task!

Production Blog-Editing and Getting Files Together

Today I finally got the chance to sit down and edit the clips that I have received together. I'm relying on my groupmates to film at the moment, so I'm just playing a bit of a waiting game. However, I have received some of the files I needed. This allowed me to save some time by putting the files into my editing program. However, there was something I missed regarding our song choice. I forgot to find the radio version, so I decided to email myself the file. I would have downloaded the clean version directly onto my computer, but I was having file issues. After emailing myself the files I needed to download all of the videos sent to me. Then I placed them in the media of the editing platform and then onto the video track. An Introduction: A New Year, A New Group

This year my group is very different. See, last year I worked with Kayla and Hervis, but they decided to not take A-Level Media, which is okay. I've decided to work with Naliah (last initial) this year. I met her last year while tutoring for Algebra 2 and Pre-Calculus and she was in the library needing help for Calculus. I think the fact that she was even in the library requesting help is a testament to her dedication to school. She seemed really sweet and had a lot of cool interests. Math clearly wasn't her favorite subject, but she loved anime and is now a promoter of the school's diversity club. I'm really glad I got to know her, and I hope we work well together this year. She was also in my AS-Level class, but we never really got to know each other until later into last year and this year. Production Blog: Only 2 Props, But a Thousand Emails

 Today another member of my group and I discussed props. She wanted to use fake blood, so we went through Amazon to try to find something practical. We ended up selecting a 16 fl oz bottle that costed a little under 10 dollars. In my opinion, it's still a bit too much, but maybe we'll end up using more than we thought. It did look realistic in the photo, but I'm hoping it looks that way in real life. We also talked about a fake gun. I remember seeing some fairly cheap ones on Amazon, but she mentioned having a BB gun that looked real enough. That was definitely fortunate, since I'm hoping money won't be added onto the issues during the project. While money and props are out of way, I needed to start emailing artists for music permission.
